Review FENDER Silver Label Stratocaster Mim Maple Neck Locking Tuners

The **Fender 0134602580 2005 Label Stratocaster** is a meticulously crafted electric guitar that embodies the refined elegance and timeless playability of Fender s legendary Stratocaster series, elevated by the subtle sophistication of the **2005 Label** badge. This instrument features a **mahogany body** with a **gloss finish**, offering a warm, resonant tone that balances warmth and clarity, making it ideal for a wide range of musical styles from blues and rock to jazz and funk. The **maple neck** with a **20.25" scale length** provides a smooth, fast-playing experience, while its **C-shaped profile** ensures comfort during extended sessions, catering to both beginners and seasoned players alike. The **21 jumbo frets** with **dot inlays** enhance precision and articulation, allowing for effortless bends, slides, and intricate solos.

One of the standout features of this Stratocaster is its **locking tuners**, which eliminate the frustration of intonation drift and ensure pitch stability across all strings. These high-quality tuners, paired with the **5-way pickup selector switch** and **two volume knobs with a single tone knob**, deliver a versatile tonal palette. The **three single-coil pickups** a **neck, middle, and bridge position** offer a bright, articulate tone with a classic Stratocaster sparkle, while the **reverse wound and reverse polarized middle pickup** adds subtle tonal depth and reduces hum, making it a favorite among players who demand both clarity and consistency. The **black pickguard** and **abalone bridge and knobs** add a touch of vintage charm, complementing the instrument s polished yet understated aesthetic.

Built with Fender s signature attention to detail, this guitar is a perfect blend of heritage and modern refinement. Whether you're a purist seeking the essence of a classic Strat or a contemporary player looking for a reliable, high-performance instrument, the **2005 Label Stratocaster** delivers an exceptional playing experience that bridges tradition and innovation. Its balanced tone, comfortable ergonomics, and durable construction make it a versatile choice for studio work, live performances, and practice sessions alike.

### **Pros and Cons of buying a Fender 0134602580 2005 Label Stratocaster (Maple Neck, Locking Tuners)**

#### **Pros:**

1. **Classic Stratocaster Design** The Stratocaster is one of the most iconic electric guitars, offering a versatile tone suitable for rock, blues, jazz, and more. The 2005 Label model retains the timeless aesthetic of the original 50s design.

2. **Maple Neck with Rosewood Fingerboard** The maple neck provides a brighter, more articulate tone compared to a mahogany neck, while the rosewood fingerboard adds warmth and sustain. This combination is favored by many players for its playability and tonal balance.

3. **Locking Tuners** The locking tuners (HASO or similar) eliminate the need for string winding around the pegs, reducing slippage and making tuning more stable. This is especially useful for players who frequently change strings or play with heavy gauge strings.

4. **Vintage-Inspired Hardware** The 2005 Label Strat features a mix of vintage and modern components, including a vintage-style bridge, pickups, and knobs, which enhances its retro appeal while maintaining playability.

5. **Quality Pickups** The guitar typically comes with Fender s Alnico V single-coils, which are known for their warm, articulate tone with a touch of midrange growl. The pickups are well-balanced for both clean and distorted playing.

6. **Comfortable Playability** The slim-taper neck profile (modern Strat shape) is forgiving for players with smaller hands, and the overall weight (around 8.5 lbs) makes it comfortable for long sessions.

7. **Resale Value** Fender Stratocasters, especially those in good condition, hold their value well, making this a solid long-term investment.

8. **Versatility** The Strat s three-way pickup selector and tone controls allow for a wide range of tonal options, from clean jazz tones to high-gain rock sounds.

#### **Cons:**

1. **Aged Vintage Components** Being a reissue from the 2000s, some parts (like the pickups, knobs, or electronics) may not be as refined as modern Fender models. The tone and response might not match newer Strats with upgraded components.

2. **Potential for Wear and Tear** If the guitar has been well-used, there may be minor imperfections such as slight neck relief changes, worn frets, or cosmetic wear on the finish. A thorough inspection is recommended before purchase.

3. **Limited Customization Options** Unlike modern Strats, this model does not offer as many customization choices (e.g., no built-in tuner, fewer finish options). Buyers must accept the stock configuration.

4. **Price Relative to Newer Models** While this is a reissue, it may not be as cost-effective as a newer Fender Stratocaster with similar or better components. Some modern Strats offer upgraded electronics, pickups, or hardware at a comparable price.

5. **Potential for Inconsistent Build Quality** Vintage reissues can sometimes have slight variations in build quality compared to modern production standards. Some units may have minor issues like loose screws or slight intonation problems.

6. **Not Ideal for Heavy Metal or Extreme Distortion** While the Strat is versatile, its single-coil pickups can struggle with high-gain tones compared to humbuckers. Players who rely on heavy distortion may prefer a different body style.

7. **Limited Availability of Replacement Parts** If the guitar requires repairs, finding exact vintage-style parts (e.g., vintage-style knobs, bridge pins) can be more difficult than for newer models.

---

### **Conclusion:**

The **Fender 2005 Label Stratocaster (Maple Neck, Locking Tuners)** is an excellent choice for players who appreciate the classic Stratocaster tone, vintage aesthetics, and the convenience of locking tuners. It strikes a balance between nostalgia and modern playability, making it suitable for beginners, intermediate players, and enthusiasts who value craftsmanship and versatility.

However, if you prioritize cutting-edge electronics, modern build quality, or extensive customization options, a newer Fender Stratocaster or a different model (such as a Player Series or a custom shop build) might be worth considering. For those who prefer the warmth of a vintage-inspired tone and don t mind minor trade-offs in modern features, this guitar is a fantastic value.

---

### **Recommendation:** **Buy this guitar if:**

- You love the classic Stratocaster tone and vintage look.

- You want locking tuners for stability and ease of use.

- You prefer a maple neck with rosewood fingerboard for a balanced tone.

- You re on a budget but still want a high-quality instrument.

- You plan to use it for a variety of genres (rock, blues, jazz, etc.).

**Consider alternatives if:**

- You need the latest electronics or upgraded pickups.

- You play primarily in high-gain or metal styles.

- You want more customization options (e.g., humbuckers, active electronics).

- You prefer a newer model with improved build consistency.

**Final Verdict:** This is a **strong, reliable choice** for Stratocaster fans who want a blend of vintage charm and modern convenience. It s particularly well-suited for players who prioritize tone, playability, and resale value without breaking the bank.

Details:

You can barely see it in the closeup pic of nut/truss rod area. Used 2005 Fender MIM Strat neck Maple on. All reasonable offers considered. Expect to need do at least a 'personal preference' setup when it arrives, as usual with any shipped used guitar.

Includes Fender staggered locking tuners. If you don't want or need the tuners, I can remove them and knock $50 off price, just message me. There is also what appears to be a small repair on the head stock bass side above nut, it looks like there was chip that glued back in place, or may just crack Hans't broken yet. At minimum, expect to need setup the instrument your personal preferences after shipping.

This is a used guitar, and I am not Luther. There is some fret wear/divots and also several small dings dents on the back of neck. My photography skills really suck and my camera isn't much better, but I'll do what I can. I've explained all details as best I can, and the photos should provide rest.

Hard for me to tell, since I'm blind as a bat.
